20 week scan was perfect!

Yeah, baby is still alive and well. Heart there, brain in order, and all measurements perfect. Person scanning said baby is 1 day older than it should be.

Wonderful result.

I then spoke to the naturopath who was thrilled. We discussed vaccinations and the fact that I'll need more magnesium as the pregnancy progresses from now. She said to look out for cramping muscles and twitching eyes, a sign of low magnisium.

We had good discussion re flu and whooping cough. She said not to have flu vaccination, but was on the fence over whooping cough. I'll update my vaccination section with our discussion soon.

  1. Lisa,

  2. It's amazing isn't it Erin. I can't believe that there might be a live baby at the end of all this. Still feel like I'm in some kind of protection mode. But boy it's moving about in there, kicks are getting stronger every day. Was the most strange feeling walking into the doctors office today with big smiles, no disastrous outcome, and "we'll see you in another 3 weeks". Not normal for us.

I feel totally confident that this could happen to you as well.

I'm interested to know the tests you've had? Is there anything wrong? If so, maybe all you need is to get your DNA done, go onto relevant vitamins, and 5-methylfolate + a bit of old fashioned thick skin if things go wrong and determination to keep plugging on. Oh, plus get your partner on the same gig. Go on. I reckon you can do it.

    How old are you again?

  3. Biggest thing I've learnt is now neglectful doctors are to making sure your body is nourished with all the right nutrients it needs to function properly. It's like they don't care about how you react to vitamins and food, rather focus on medical cures once that body has fallen over.

I have been totally shocked to learn how important the methylation system is to your body's complete health, with every single cel affected by it - yet doctors have never heard of the concept. REALLY STRANGE.

Most upsetting is how they poo-hoo your findings, and don't take naturopathy seriously.

  4. Lisa,

Remember that time you typed a long response to me and somehow it got lost?? SAME THING just happened to me! haha, I went to publish the post and there was nothing in the comment box!!!

I am so very happy to hear things are going well for you and your family. It's got to be exciting and nerve-wracking at the same time. What kinds of things are you enjoying about being pregnant? Are you starting to feel uncomfortable at all? Trouble sleeping? Sore back? Peeing ALL THE TIME!??

I am starting to feel more confident that I could be a mom some day. I'm moving slowly through this, but it's been an exciting process. I'm stating to feel better physically and mentally. My eczema is slowing improving. I have more energy. I'm sleeping better. Less anxiety throughout the day and BOY do I notice it when I fall off the wagon and eat something outside of my diet restrictions.

We just got back from California and I didn't stick to my diet out there. Well, I tried my best, but a few things got past me. Bread. That got through and it's loaded with folic acid. I noticed serious flares in anxiety and eczema blisters.

Anyhow, I'm looking forward to reaching a place where I feel at my best. I know it's possible. I still feel like I have a ton of toxins to shed and I'd like to lose a few more pounds too. I'd like to feel comfortable with my diet changes and exercise more. When I get to that place, I think it would be much easier for a little one to survive in my body.

Oh, and to answer your question, I just turned 30. :)

I would love to write more, but I've got to run right now. I have a crazy amount of farmshare veggies to cook/freeze/preserve... Just found out we have to leave on business again!! Oh well, my bag is still packed... I haven't caught up with the time zone changes yet though. I slept for twelve hours last night! haha

Looking forward to hearing from you. I would love to communicate via email if possible. There are some things I just don't want to put out in a public space. Not sure if you're interested.

As always, I'm sending my positive energy your way. Sometimes it takes me a bit to check the site, but I keep checking. I really, really, REALLY want to see the pictures of you, your partner and your little one, safe in your arms.

Hope you're having a stellar day!
    Erin

  5. OMG you are so young. That's amazing you're 30. You've got all the time in the world. Fabulous. You will get there, totally, I KNOW IT.

Yes absolutely happy to communicate via email, what's your email address and I'll message you?

You ask the question above: how am I feeling. The answer is AMAZING. I've lost weight (yes, while pregnant, can you believe), my skin is the best it's ever been, I feel mentally sharp, focused, no trouble sleeping, no pain - everything feels good. Now I can feel kicking every day, so I'm not as anxious waiting for the next scan. Not sure if it's the diet/vitamins or the pregnancy doing it to me, but it's a good vibe so v happy.

    22 weeks now - yeah!!
